Leopard, 2007, steel, washers, 48 X 144 X 48″
I had the opportunity to make an installation along a 19 gallery wall in Cambridge, MA, but with the stipulation that the piece could not rest on the floor, had to be above head height, and couldnt extend into the space more than 4. I thought of the idea of a jungle canopy. I made the leopard out of rebar, and also the branches that surrounded and supported it, and attached it to the rafters. Washers welded to the surface indicate the spotted, camouflaging pattern of the leopard.
